Moon Base Now; What Did We Learn From Apollo?

Author: Lance Winslow

Some at NASA want to screw around and stretch out the lunar schedule and maybe do something worthwhile by 2020? Why wait? You see the way I see it is that; Time is of the essence. Taking one's time is for weak people and low-tolerance risk takers. Indeed we must press on, not act like a bunch of chickens.

Recently in an online think tank a guest speaker stated; What's the big deal about getting to Mars quickly? Why reapeat the mistake of Apollo? Why go to Mars before we have the ability to stay there?

What did we learn from Apollo? We learned that we can do anything and that even if we build a G-Damn beer can and put people in it that the will to overcome and adapt is by far the only thing this lousy species has going for it. So, why ditch the human character and determination that our ancestors have handed us on a silver platter. We learned that such incredible achievement can only be done thru risk taking. And dont pull that liberal crap; would you want your son to go? Yes, G-darn it I would and I would go myself. Take risks, be a winner. You cannot achieve unless you believe and force your will onto the field. We can do this.

We should do all of it right now, as fast as humanly possible, take some risks, trial and error, make some heroes and press on. Talk is cheap and time is wasting. We need men not mice. We have 1 million scientists and researchers in America, give them a glimpse of the future, show us what dreams are made of, celebrate human life and achievement.

Get the lead out NASA your Blob of Bureaucracy is slowing down the forward progression of mankind and screwing with the United States of Americas gold medal podium spot in the race for space. Consider all this in 2006.
