Poker Affiliate Programs: Affiliates Cashing in on Online Poker Boom

Author: Blake Stevenson

Poker has been a card played amongst friends and professionals for centuries. It has long since been one of the most popular card games as well as gambling pursuits. Players get to pit their wits against friends, colleagues or even enemies in the game. Inevitably with the rise in popularity in the Internet during the mid 1990's, the opportunities available to all industries allowed many to move into the online sector. The gaming industry was quick to capitalise, creating sites dedicated to gambling and games. Poker was possibly not the most obvious choice to become one of the largest businesses. However through the online forums and interactivity of the once very linear game, the online poker industry thrived. So much so that it is now one of the most lucrative and competitive markets on the Internet.

The online version of the game of poker is fundamentally the same in terms of rules and etiquette, but a number of the things familiar to many players of the traditional games have either gone or been replaced. The Internet offers people the opportunity to create and expand industries and develop new ideas. This is essentially what happened to poker as it has become rejuvenated and popularised beyond all possible comprehension. As a result of the radical changes in interactivity and game play the game of poker has become one of the most popular online games.

The thriving industry has been growing many folds each year, keeping old customers and generating new ones with exciting game play and extra bonuses. But in such a competitive environment staying ahead is essential, therefore advertising and becoming an important industry name are important factors. Like most industries the poker business has been quick to take advantage of the thriving affiliate market. The affiliate program allows poker companies the free range of advertising without having to shell out huge volumes of their capital.

The affiliate market works by large Internet sites rewarding smaller subsidiary sites with money on receiving new customers. The system is an intricate web of advertising that offers small sites the opportunity to capitalise from the success of larger sites. The larger the industry the greater the opportunity of earning serious money. Therefore a thriving industry just based on affiliates has boomed out of the online gaming industries. Affiliates can earn substantial amounts of cash, based on a percentage of the money generated by the customers they attract, it doesn't take long for an affiliate marketer to generate serious business for themselves. The bonuses and opportunity that come with working with such a large industry has opened the doors to affiliates to make money. The potential profits for both parties make the affiliate program means that it is in the interest of each of them to promote and reward each other. The affiliates incentive is to provide customers in exchange for money, whilst the poker rooms enjoy the extra income bought in by new customers. With both parties benefiting hugely, it is no wonder that the market has become so competitive and even more successful.
