Treadmill Ratings

Author: Faith Prieur

Treadmill ratings and reviews are a good way to narrow down the group of treadmills that you may have been thinking about getting. Treadmill ratings websites, review sites and treadmill buying guides are wonderful resources for the very beginning and end of the treadmill selection process, but there is a very important phase right in the middle.

You really can't find out if a treadmill is going to be compatible with you, your lifestyle and fitness goals unless you give it a test drive. It's utter folly to think that you can order a treadmill online without ever having seen it in person or tried it out at all, and not have some kind of problem once it arrives. It's unlikely anyway.

In fact, I suggest that once you walk on a few, and narrow things down a bit, you should walk for at least thirty minutes on the one you pick out before you make the final decision. Different treadmills fit uniquely with our individual bodies. Any potential discrepancies in compatibility between you and the machine probably won't show up for at least twenty minutes of use, if not longer.

The salesperson may push you to make a decision. Don't worry about them and take your time trying out machines as long as you want to. You're the one about to shell out hard earned cash for a treadmill that you want to help motivate you to exercise. It's important that you make sure you're going to still like the thing and want to use it six months or a year from now.

Okay, so you've gone to the gym and/or fitness equipment store and tried out several treadmills for yourself. You probably have some idea of which ones you prefer and are leaning toward choosing.

Now it's time to bust out the treadmill ratings and reviews and see what they have to say about the same machines you just spent time trying out. This will be a good time to find out about maintenance and repair issues, as well as warranty coverage and duration and things of that nature.

Warranties are something to consider when comparing and contrasting treadmills. A nice mid range to premium treadmill should have at least a six month warranty, preferably one that lasts a year or longer.

When you find out that a particular treadmill has a warranty that lasts 90 days, run the other direction. The only reason that a manufacturer wouldn't be willing to cover their product for at least six months is because they know how fast the thing is going to require maintenance, or break down altogether.

Armed with some information and knowledge about which treadmill feels right for you, you'll be exercising in the comfort of your own home on your new super cool treadmill in no time. Just be patient, it may take time for all of the pertinent data to trickle in. By being patient and informing yourself, you're sure to end up with a treadmill perfectly suited to your goals and lifestyle.
