Get More for Less with Cell Phones

Author: Jeff Lakie

There are many great features on cell phones and as technology increases or seems to be more and more features while telephones become cheaper and cheaper! The end result is that you, the consumer, get more for less. A rare feat in this world.

One great feature of the cell phone is the organizer that can come with it which will help organize your life and eliminate the need for an additional PDA. The organizer can store your schedule, synchronize with your computer, and keep you up-to-date and on time with alarm settings, a calendar function, and reminders.

Games are a great way to pass the time and keep you busy while you sit in the back of a taxi cab during rush hour. The earliest renditions of Tetris and Snake are now like the video game Pong your parents may have played on the earliest television video game systems. Highly advanced games with detailed graphics and entertaining scenarios are available for download.

Cell phones coming with a GPS system built-in which allows you to find where you are, but is also being marketed to parents of teenagers to keep tabs on their children while they are over their friends.

Cell phones that have RSS feed capabilities can be used for "Punchcasting" which allows you to use your phone like an MP3 player or an iPod, automatically retrieving freshly updated podcasts to your phone that you have subscribed to.

Being able to text message your friends is a great way to amuse yourself in a non-disruptive way without diminishing your ability to communicate with your friends.

Digital pictures and video are increasing in popularity on your cell phone as a great way of immortalizing the moment.

One of the best features available on the cell phone has little to do with the electronic functionality. Instead, cell phones, which have become such an intricate part of our lives, are customizable to become expressions of who we are. You can get faceplates, antennas, and ring tones that turn your phone from just another one off the assembly line into your own unique communication device.

What's next? With all these great features now, can there be anything more added to the cell phone? Cell phones are quickly becoming the central tool that we make sure we take with us when we go, eliminating our need for an extra PDA, an extra MP3 player, an extra text messaging system, an extra digital camera. In the future we may see cell phones also replacing our wallets, our keys, and our remote garage door opener.
